Gambling Law Websites

Gambling laws are changing so fast and have so many different complexities from country to country around the world it’s nearly impossible to keep up with it all. Several websites specialize themselves as gambling law sites, while other general gambling websites have a (usually outdated) weak section with a loose look at the laws. I certainly don’t claim to be an expert of gambling law, but I promise a well researched page listing what many consider to be the best gambling law websites.

Even more importantly I plan to keep a country specific list of legal gambling sites – not to say this list is up to the minute but I do plan to keep an eye on the who is gaining a license where, and the difference between legitimate regulation (see the UK) and sham regulation (see offshore sites).

The best websites in this section will include regional based information, including wagering restrictions, gambling related legislation and government related efforts, and hopefully I will find a few sections on tax law related to gambling.

Remember, I’m not a lawyer and I don’t claim to be an expert – please consult local laws and regulations before participating in any form of gambling.

Gambling-Law-US.com is a site focused on gaming laws in the United States, with a comprehensive state by state US gambling law guide, US federal gambling laws, and even an overview to what constitutes charitable gambling.  The website is maintained by Chuck Humphrey, a practicing attorney in several US states.

Gambling-US.com is a similar site with detailed state by state sections on US gaming law.  I’m not sure if this site is updated anymore, it used to be ran by Steve Badger but I believe was sold in 2010.

I’m on the hunt for more gambling law websites with global coverage as much of the regulation and legislation of the last few years has taken place in Europe and elsewhere.
